Asia Orlando Exploring Nature in Her Latest Illustrated Book Project

Take a dive into the illustrated world Asia Orlando created in her latest book illustrations for Plants That Talk, Animals That Sing (Plantas que hablan, animales que cantan). This nonfiction book provides an eye-opening experience into the intelligence that exists beyond humans. Asia relied heavily on the author’s texts for her illustrations, and this dedication shines through in each illustrated page.

Asia shared that she “wanted the book pages to overflow with color and vitality. To transform the reader's experience into one of discovery and wonder, showcasing the diversity of nature - flora and fauna in all its glory.”

“I have always wanted to depict animals just as I see them, with their own expressive character and unique personality. Animals are what I love most in the world; they are truly incredible. And in this book, I wanted to give them the tribute they deserve.” And give them the tribute she did! Each page is bursting with an exciting variety of animals and nature to understand and grow to love.

Her continued collaboration with The New Yorker has been instrumental in engaging readers in the world of theatre. Her contributions to this column highlight just how transformative the power of visual storytelling can be.

Published by Editorial Flamboyant, written by Alex Nogués, available in castellano & catalan on May 20th 2024, across Spain. This book will be translated into more languages in the future.
